Meet The Panel

Andrew Kelsen

Chief Investment Officer

Andrew is a passionate multi-class investment professional with over 37 years investment experience. He has overseen origination, screening, evaluation, negotiation, portfolio construction and monitoring of private equity, hedge fund, real estate, timberland and fixed income investments. Andrew began his career in 1987 on Wall Street in retail brokerage, fixed income trading and commodities trading. From there he went to Chicago and spent a number of years at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade specializing in interest derivatives and fixed income options. Later moving to Atlanta, he ran fixed income and equity trading and underwriting operations before moving into investment consulting. Returning to Chicago, he served as both alternative investment research head and consultant, as well as a hedge fund portfolio manager at a family office before becoming the Chief Investment Officer at the Chicago Teachers Pension Fund. Andrew now serves as Moneta’s Chief Investment Officer, leading sourcing, due diligence and ongoing oversight of Moneta investments. 

Benjamin Trombley

Managing Director

Benjamin Trombley joined Apollo in 2023 in the Client and Product Solutions team as a Managing Director leading the credit solutions platform within GWMS. Prior to joining Apollo, Ben spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs in New York, where he most recently worked as a lead portfolio manager focused on Emerging Market Credit. Additionally, throughout his tenure at Goldman Sachs he has held various roles across Corporate Credit and Multi-sector Fixed Income portfolio management. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Ben worked as a fixed income trader and on the structured finance syndicate at Citigroup. Ben graduated with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Richmond University.

Ryan Kelley

Partner

Ryan is a Founding Partner of Shore Capital, a lower middle-market private equity firm focused on partnering with companies that have between $1-10 million of EBITDA. Ryan is responsible for all activities of the firm including sourcing, evaluating and enabling the growth of Shore investments. Currently, Ryan is a Director of Behavioral Innovations, BrightView, Navia Benefit Solutions, Transformations Care Network, Hueman, and CG Life, and was a past Director of the Florida Autism Center. He serves as Chairman of Community Care Partners, Point C, and Tandem. Ryan also served as past Director of Sirona Infusion, ClearPath Diagnostics, Michigan Rehabilitation Specialists, Fast Pace Urgent Care, the Stepping Stones Group, and Navia Benefit Solutions.  Outside of the office, Ryan is actively involved with the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Financial Markets Institute of Michigan State University, an organization that prepares undergraduate students for careers in financial services.  Ryan received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and received a B.A. in Accounting from the Honors College at Michigan State University. 

Richard M. Kimble

Managing Director

Richard is the Co-President and the lead portfolio manager of the Nuveen Global Cities REIT. He is responsible for overall strategy and oversees transactions, asset management, financings and operations.  Prior to his current position, Richard held numerous roles on the transactions and portfolio management teams. He served on the United States regional team for Nuveen Real Estate, structuring and managing equity and debt components of commercial real estate. He also led investment activity including acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions. In 2012, he opened the Nuveen Real Estate’s San Francisco office and built out the Northwest transaction team. Before joining the firm in 2007, he worked for RER Financial Group and specialized in CMBS due diligence assignments, acquisitions, and debt restructurings. He entered the real estate industry in 1999.  Richard graduated with a B.S. in Economics from Mary Washington College and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
