Moneta’s Board of Managers unanimously approved Matthew Sallaberry to be promoted to Partner in the firm. His path to and through Moneta demonstrates how the firm both attracts and develops talent.
Matt, who was previously honored by the St. Louis Business Journal as a “40 under 40” award winner in 2016, joined Moneta a year later, after nearly two decades as a commercial lender with extensive experience in business development, corporate risk assessment, and business consulting.
“Moneta offered me a unique opportunity to do what I love, which is helping people with their most important and most personal life goals, while working toward acquiring an equity stake in a sizeable, growing, and dynamic business,” Matt said. “I grew up in a family business and have always wanted to pursue my own entrepreneurial path. Moneta represented the perfect cross-section of personal and professional purpose for me, and it’s changed my life.”
Matt’s professional journey equipped him with relevant advice that resonates with clients from many different walks of life, but his background in corporate finance developed a particular acumen and interest in helping business owners achieve their financial objectives. As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), he leverages this specialized expertise to assist business owners in managing, maximizing and monetizing the value of what is often their largest and most illiquid asset: the business itself.
“My goal as a Partner is to positively impact the lives of as many people as possible, including clients, teammates, and colleagues while also working to perpetuate Moneta’s sustainable business model so that it survives and thrives for generations to come,” Matt said.
Attracting accomplished specialized experts like Matt is only part of that model. His promotion serves as the most recent example of Moneta’s commitment to growing and developing world-class talent internally through its Partner-in-Training program and career pathing supported by Moneta University.
“Having completed a rigorous two-year Partner in Training program, Matt has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in growing Moneta, managing intricate client relationships, excelling in practice management, and leading the team with distinction,” Moneta CEO and Managing Partner, Eric Kittner, said. “Our team members are our greatest asset, and our steadfast commitment to nurturing and developing talent within our firm secures a promising future for us all. In an industry facing challenges with succession planning, Moneta is fully committed to preserving our independent spirit for generations to come.”
