Enjoy Our Team Newsletter – Third Quarter 2025

Fall is upon us. How quickly this year has gone!

Days are becoming shorter, but the air is crisp, and the colors are changing. We hope this season brings you endless joy alongside friends and family, and peace of mind knowing that our team is working diligently to address all your needs before year-end.

Our team members prioritized some time away from work this summer, taking advantage of our beautiful state and sprinkling in some travel, too. We’re excited to share what we’ve been up to.

The final quarter of each year is often highlighted by year-end tax planning, required minimum distributions, charitable giving, and focus on funding your retirement depending on what stage you are in. Our focus as your accountability partner is proactively planning to complete all year-end items by mid-December, thus allowing you and your families to enjoy the Holiday Season focusing on what matters most.

With the changing of seasons and a new year on the horizon, our team is strategically planning for how we can improve and grow in 2026 and beyond. Not only are we committed to improving these existing relationships with your guidance and feedback, but we’d love the opportunity to make a positive impact for others in your personal or professional circles. This is the season of giving, and we are passionate about offering our services to benefit others.

I wanted to share a heartwarming story about our recent experience with adopting a new furry family member. We welcomed a new dog into our home in August thanks to the connection of a colleague and the wonderful folks at Soul Dog Rescue. Naming our new companion—a 1.5-year-old mixed breed—was a challenge. We finally settled on “Elroy,” a name that honors and celebrates our prior dog and team Chief of Staff, Jetson, who passed at age 14 last November.

Bringing Elroy into our lives has been nothing short of wonderful. To our pleasant surprise, our other dog, Foxy Lady—who is now 6 years old and was adopted during COVID from Eagle County Animal Services—has found a new best friend and partner in crime. The two of them are inseparable, engaging in playful antics most of the time. It’s common for us to enjoy their spirited play at 5 a.m. over a cup of coffee or 9 p.m. when we’re winding down for bed!

I’d love to share a bit more about Soul Dog Rescue. They began with a mission to help the deserving dogs and cats on Tribal Lands in the Four Corners region. There has been an overpopulation issue and a lack of resources for pet owners in the Four Corners region of Colorado. While many are doing their best on a small scale, a proactive approach was needed to eliminate the staggering number of unwanted litters of cats and dogs.

Animal control was overwhelmed with the task of euthanizing unwanted animals, which created a downward spiral. Soul Dog recognized that spay/neuter was the only sustainable solution. They committed to providing between one and two clinics per month in various locations, making the service both affordable and accessible. No animal is ever turned away due to the owner’s inability to pay, which is remarkable. They bring the services directly into the communities, addressing the transportation challenges on the vast Navajo Reservation.

Elroy’s story is quite touching. He was found with two other siblings in a box outside a Navajo reservation. Understandably, he is quite scared of everything, including cars. When Soul Dog Rescue picked him up, they added him to the training program at the Colorado Correctional Industries, Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program (PTKCP). This program merges two important goals of saving humans through saving dogs by allowing incarcerated men and women to learn new skills, improve self-esteem, and earn a salary that is based on their work performance. Inmates from the PTKCP are eligible to earn vocational certification in Canine Behavior Modification that opens opportunities for future work.

Elroy learned his basic skills. The most amazing part is the handwritten journal we received that documents his daily training, commands, and progress. The handwriting in the journal is impeccable, and it’s a beautiful example of how we are all interconnected as people, and we can help lift our community members. The skills learned and the loving support provided through this program are truly heartwarming.

I had quite the summer! My weekends were filled with more weddings, time in the mountains with family, and plenty of tennis when I wasn’t on the move. My family and I also had the chance to see our Chicago Cubs get an exciting win here in Denver against the Rockies.

I did not meet my annual goal of hiking one 14er, but I’m motivated to hike two next year to make up for it. I do, however, hope to get up to the mountains to see the colors change before it’s too late.

A highlight from this past quarter was attending the Jordan Davis concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre—one of my favorite artists at an unbeatable venue.

Fall is without question my favorite season of the year. Football season is in full swing (Go Hoosiers!), my favorite holidays are coming fast, my sweet tooth is always satisfied, and the weather is exceptional—perhaps that is the Midwesterner in me 😊.

I have always valued my time with loved ones more than anything else. Thanksgiving and Christmastime allow for quality time with those who matter most to me, and I can reflect on how fortunate I am despite the challenges that we all face. I feel the same fortune to have built relationships with all of you, as well.

Fall is truly my favorite season here in Colorful Colorado. The weather cools down, and the leaves put on a spectacular show, creating a beautiful landscape that’s hard to resist.

I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to take in a foster named Sid from SPCA International’s PAWsitive Recovery program. This incredible program “gives people in recovery and animals in shelters a new ‘leash’ on life, helping them heal from addiction, trauma, and abuse.” It offers temporary pet foster care for individuals seeking treatment or those recovering from domestic violence, as well as animal-focused workshops in treatment centers and shelters.”

The process was quite thorough—I applied, went through the interview and home inspection process, and then we had a meet-and-greet between Sid and our “Chief of Staff,” Paco. I’m thrilled to report that they got along famously and have since developed a full-fledged “bromance.” Sid is absolutely obsessed with fetch—anything will do, even a rock if he can’t find a ball. I like to think his person named him Sid because of the character in Ice Age; he looks like “Sid” but has the personality of “Scrat” the squirrel, with an obsession for rocks, balls, sticks—anything you can play fetch with.

Sid and Paco love spending time at Paco’s favorite spot, the Cherry Creek State Parks – DOLA. There, they can run, play, swim, and fetch to their hearts’ content. I’m not sure how long we’ll have the pleasure of Sid’s company, but we are looking forward to making the most of our time with him. With Halloween around the corner, hopefully, he’ll get to join in the fun and play dress-up with Pao.

Wishing you all a wonderful fall season!

Happy Pumpkin-Spice Season!

Yes, I know the big coffee chains think August is the beginning of the season, but I prefer to wait until there is at least a hint of fall in the air! This is the time of year I’ll typically bring out the baking pans and between now and Thanksgiving I’ll try a couple of new recipes featuring pumpkin. One that I’m planning to try is this cream cheese swirled pumpkin-banana bread; I love both pumpkin and banana so I’m thinking this is a sure hit: https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/cream-cheese-swirled-pumpkin-banana-bread/

Speaking of pumpkin, we’ll look forward to carving a few and welcoming all the cute little trick-or-treaters on Halloween.  We will typically offer candy, as well as non-candy treats for our cuties who have food allergies.  Navigating Halloween with a little one who has life-threatening allergies to nuts is a challenge we undertook with our youngest son.  We had all kinds of protocols in place, including requiring him to come home to dump his candy before the last of the trick-or-treaters came so we could hand back out anything he collected that had nuts.  He definitely grew tired of Skittles and Life Saver Gummies over the years.  Now we participate in the FARE Teal Pumpkin Project, and I’d encourage you to check it out and consider participating as well.  You can even find teal pumpkins at your favorite retailer!

If you have a great pumpkin recipe to share, email me; maybe I’ll make it and bring it in as a treat for our weekly team meeting. Jackson isn’t the only one with a sweet tooth! 😉

Incredibly, 2026 is right around the corner. We encourage you to share with us what you and your loved ones are looking forward to during this Fall season. Our passion is acting as your partner in achieving your goals, but we’re also passionate about hearing and seeing what all your hard work is allowing you to do for enjoyment.

We appreciate you!

Warmly,

Erin, Jackson, Shannon, and Tina 😊
